Complete Prayer Guide
Learn how to perform Salah (Islamic prayer) with step-by-step instructions and visual guides.
Before You Begin
Ensure you have performed ablution (wudu), are wearing clean and modest clothes, and are facing the direction of the Kaaba (Qiblah).
1. Intention
Make the intention in your heart for the specific prayer you are about to perform.
2. Takbir
Raise your hands to your ears and say 'Allahu Akbar' (Allah is the Greatest).
3. Standing
Place your right hand over your left on your chest and recite the opening supplication followed by Surah Al-Fatiha.
4. Bowing
Bow down with your back parallel to the ground, placing hands on knees, and saying 'Subhana Rabbiyal Adheem' three times.
5. Standing from Bowing
Return to the standing position while saying 'Sami Allahu liman hamidah, Rabbana wa lakal hamd'.
6. Prostration
Prostrate with your forehead, nose, palms, knees, and toes touching the ground, saying 'Subhana Rabbiyal A'la' three times.
7. Sitting Between Prostrations
Sit briefly between the two prostrations, saying 'Rabbi ghfir li, Rabbi ghfir li' (My Lord, forgive me).
8. Final Sitting
In the final sitting, recite At-Tahiyyat, Salawat Ibrahim, and supplications before ending the prayer.
9. Final Salam
End the prayer by turning your face right saying 'Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah', then left repeating the same.
